When using natural products test them on an area other than your face first to make sure your skin likes it. It is always good to do an allergy test.
I love olive oil on my skin though. I use it on my hands and feet when they feel too dry. In the summer I will put a little olive oil on each foot and put them in a gallon size zip lock bag and have my own foot sauna while I relax, or blog, or read. It is amazing how it softens your feet.

That is fantastic information – I never knew any of the above products could be used on acne to help clear up your skin. You learn something new every day!

Incidentally, a trick I learned a long time ago in college was to dab a little bit of toothpaste on the pimple for about 15-30 minutes, maybe a little more, then rinse it off. It really helped to dry it out and make it disappear within a day or two. FYI, it only worked with the “original” flavors of each major brand. This trick did not work with gel toothpaste, which caused irritation and dry, flaky skin, and basically made matters worse.

I wonder if you have any idea what ingredient(s) are in toothpaste that help fight against acne, and whether they still make these toothpastes the same way. Has anyone else heard of anyone using this method?

It appears that there’s something to be said for natural remedies for all sorts of things. It’s good to see that there are natural solutions to acney other then chemicals and drugs.

I like the idea of using natural remedies. It worries me that many of the products purchased at chemists are full of harsh chemicals that are no good for the body. It particularly makes sense to also treat acne from the inside – as the skin is the largest organ of the body.
